N8 Fail - Reasons Why the Nokia N8 Sucks
Of the thousands of UI defects in the N8 - the lack on portrait QWERTY keyboard is one of the biggies. No more! The is a vertical keyboard!  Well done Nokia. Hmmm? Wait? What! It wasn’t Nokia wot done it.  It was that crafty fox Janole. So, a lone developer can beat Nokia / Symbian at producing a usable UI for the N8. I tried to return it - but they don’t accept phones which have been thrown repeatedly against a brick wall in frustration.
