This post is interesting yet totally biased, Anyhow having used nokias for a long time (7650 being my 1st smartphone) and now owning an N8 i can only find one fault so far.
When using the full qwerty keyboard on web edits I’m getting two spaces every time i hit the space bar? Anyone else getting this or is it just me?

SMS double "OK"
write an SMS , in the previously discussed white box overlay, then click the green tick. Then watch the white background disappear, words are in a speech bubble, but its not sent yet! Next click the envelope to send. Double “okays” are a waste of my time!!

I’m finding it quite hard to knock Nokia completely. I’ve had alot of Nokia devices. My first phone, a Nokia 101, a 7110 (which I still have) and currently an N900, which I think is 80% good.
Aside from Nokia I’ve had iPhones, Blackberrys and a few chinese dual sim unbranded phones.
Ultimately I have yet to use the perfect device. All of the above have features I love, features...

I think you raise fair points worth taking seriously. I must state though that how can we trust or respect a writer unless you write with your own name and face? I have just had my N8 delivered on Friday (22nd) and I have been loyal Nokia customer, but for 429 pounds I do not think that the handset is worth it.
Can anyone recommend replacement (Not a Windows phone and Apple iPhone).

No. It’s really well constructed. Apart from the rubber bits which are a pain to remove. Oh, and the embossed logo chafes my delicate fingers. No rattling though :-)
